Retiree Mentors

Dutchess County has a legacy of excellent Music Education.  Many of those who worked hard to build these strong Music Departments have come together to offer their assistance to those of you "still in the trenches", to help you to continue the traditions and further Music Education in the area.  These retirees will try to answer your questions on all aspects of music education and on any topics you can put before them.  Their combined 235 years of experience have "seen it all."  Budget.  Competition Trips.  Discipline.  NYSSMA Solo & Major Organziation Festivals.  NYSSMA Manual.  Rehearsal Techiques. Pedigogy. Literature.  Dealing with Students, parents, administration.  Concerts.  Programs. Musicals.  All-County.  Area All-State.  All-State.  Festival planning & chairing.  etc.  etc. 

If the Mentors do not have the answer, they will help you find it.  Mentors are willing to spend time with you in school to observe, assist, demonstrate and make suggestions. 

The Retiree Mentors worked hard throughout their careers for the progress of Music Education in Dutchess County.  Now, in retirement, they are eager to be of assistance to those of you who work hard to further this progress and advance the fine reputation of music education in the area.
