​2025-26 JH Chorus Audition Information

Teachers: Please visit the member pages for additional information and instructions on submitting your students' recordings

​Selection Process: Via RECORDED audition. Students will be selected based on their ability to match pitch, hear correct intervals, keep a steady tempo, and stay in tune for the duration of the song and scale exercises while singing a cappella.
 
Each Recorded Audition must contain all three parts:

1. Clearly state his/her name, grade, and voice part.
2. Sing the ascending and descending major scales appropriate to your voice part. Scales should be sung on the vowel “ah” as in father. Please do not instruct your students to sing on solfege. Only the starting pitch may be played.  Please note that accompanied singers will be disqualified.​

3. Sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” (America) starting on the pitches appropriate to your voice part, without accompaniment. Sing only the first verse. Please note that accompanied singers will be disqualified.
          Soprano:  A-flat above middle C
          Alto:  E above middle C
          Tenor:  A below middle C 
          Bass: F below middle C
